Young athletes are more susceptible to sport-related injuries. As a result of some of these injuries, the athlete may have an appointment for surgery, physical therapy or other medical related visits. Often, young athletes are prescribed Opioids as a quick fix to overcome and manage pain due to the injury. By sharing our toolkit and the presentation of resources with Coaches, Teachers, Counselors, Families, Medical Staff and most importantly the young athletes we can discuss the risks of Opioid use, Opioid dependence and other alternatives to using pain medications
